A family's commitment to Nashik's vision
Quietly serving Nashik — one customer at a time.
It started in March 1993, as Alankar Opticians
On 24th March 1993, the first store opened at Red Cross Signal under the name Alankar Opticians. It was a modest beginning — one store, a young family, and a simple belief: that quality eye care should feel personal, never transactional.
The family had optical roots running deeper than 1993. Both Milind Deshpande and Makarand Deshpande grew up shadowing uncles who were respected optical owners in Maharashtra through the mid- and late-1900s. The craft, the values, and the obsession with getting the fit right — all of it was learned long before the first store opened.
In May 1999, the store moved to its Meher Signal location and was rechristened Deshpande's Optiview. The name has stayed the same ever since — and so has the promise behind it.

Three decades, four branches

Three decades on. The same dedication and warmth that began in 1993 — delivered one customer, one fitting at a time.
From the owners
"Sight is not just the ability to see — it is the way we look at life. For three decades, caring for the eyes of Nashik has been our deepest source of motivation."
"Every customer is a part of our family. That is why behind every pair of glasses, we uphold our promise of quality, trust, and personal care."
How we approach every customer
Our way of working has been shaped by three generations of optical practice — and a few principles we never compromise on.
Honest recommendations
We'll tell you what suits you — and what doesn't. No upselling, no pressure, no exceptions.
Long-term relationships
Many customers have been with us for 20+ years. We measure success in returning families, not transactions.
Customer education
We take the time to explain. Lens types, frame materials, what's right for your daily life — clarity, before the prescription.
Progressive lens specialists
Certified partners for ZEISS, Essilor, Hoya, Vision Rx, Rio and Bonzer — and recognised progressive lens experts with advanced ZEISS & Essilor measurement equipment at our branches.
Investing in what's next
From advanced progressive designs to AI-powered tools — we continually evaluate new technology so our customers get the best of what's possible.
Nashik, always
We're a Nashik business, run by Nashik people, for Nashik families. This city is not a market to us — it's home.
Giving back has always been part of the work
For as long as we have been in business, we have run free eye camps across Nashik's villages, schools, and workplaces. It's not a separate "CSR programme" for us — it's simply how we believe eye care should reach everyone, regardless of where they live or what they can afford.
School Eye Camps
Vision is foundational to learning. We run free screening camps at schools across Nashik — many vision issues in children are caught here for the first time, before they affect a child's confidence or grades.
Village & Community Camps
We go where quality eye care can be hard to access — villages and community gatherings around Nashik district. A few hours of our time often means months of better vision for someone who would never have walked into a clinic.
Industrial Partnerships
We've partnered with 17+ Nashik industries to bring free eye check-up camps directly to their workers. Many industrial roles place real strain on the eyes — we believe protecting the people who keep our city running is the right thing to do.
At a village camp, we'll often meet an adult who has lived their whole life with uncorrected vision — never quite seeing their grandchildren's faces clearly from across a room, or the temple at the end of the lane. When they put on their first pair of glasses, the world they thought existed suddenly shows up. There are tears — every single time.
And then there's the 40-year-old who didn't realise reading was supposed to feel effortless, until a simple pair of readers makes the morning newspaper a joy again.
These are the moments that make the work worth doing.
Three decades on, still listening.
Every customer who walks into Optiview is a continuation of a story that began in 1993. We're grateful to every family that's trusted us — and we don't take that trust lightly.
